Here's our interview with them:

1.      What’s up?
A: Well, we are doing great. Been busy jamming these days!

2.      Why the name “Day 69”? Describe its Relevance.
A:  Day69 was formed by Amar Das (guitars) along with his childhood friend Arindam Bharali (vocals). Before starting off as a band, they used to jam the Decapitated song "Day69". (Laughs) Later on when they formed the band they decided to put the name “Day69” as they are very much influenced by Decapitated.

3.      Your Demo was a home production. When will you guys be hitting the studio?
A: Yes, “Genocide” is a home production. We will hit the studios in April with 2 new songs! (Smiles)

4.      Did the line-up changes help you guys?
A:  It was difficult to get up well with the new members. But ya, it helped us a lot as we were experimenting with our sound.

5.      A permanent bassist, finally.
A: We had a hard time. But its great that now we have a permanent bassist and we can stick to him instead of going life with different bassists.

6.      The most memorable gig?
A:  Definitely “Beach Rock Festival 2011” in Guwahati. Due to personal reasons, unfortunately, we disbanded due to some reasons. However Arindam and Amar decided to stick together and reform the band. And just the day before the show , Som Roy (drummer) and Rit boruah (ex-bassist) were introduced to each other by a common friend. Then the next day we all met, jammed for an hour or two and headed for the show. Luckily, everything went well. It was hard to get along with the new line up but we did it. (Laughs) It was an insane decision.

7.      Who are your influences?
A: We all are influenced by bands like Dying Fetus, Nile, Benighted, Decapitated, Necrophagist and Death. Amar Das is heavily influenced by Chuck Schuldiner and Nuno Bittercount. Arindam's major influence is George Fisher. Our drummer Som Roy's idol has always been George Kollias. Our bassist is influenced by Steve Harris.,

8.      Elaborate on your lyrics.
A: Well, it mainly cover all the social, political and even brutal day-to-day aspects and ssues of life and the hidden side of it. Our lyrics turn people against the negligence and partialitites in their life!

9.      Your views on the local scenerio?
A:  Its developing at a nice pace. Thanks to the organizers who are working day and night to help new talents come up!

10.  Last words for our readers?
A: Keep supporting music. That all we got to say!
